Volunteers give feedback for Ecoage project
In September, a total of 12 volunteers from the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot communities participated in focus groups and interviews to provide their insights and experiences in regards to their everyday eco-friendly practices, such as soap making, repurposing food, clothes and toys and their attitudes towards mentoring younger people and intercommunal activities.
The participants’ feedback will be used to design the project’s activities and educational programme such as mentoring training, workshops and trips.
The Youth Empowerment Foundation Cyprus (IEEN), the Association of Elderly Rights and Mental Health (ERMH) and University College for Green Development (HGUt) are working together for the ECOAGE project which aims to engage older adults as mentors and environmental ambassadors for children and youth through intergenerational activities.
